DAY 2 : The Globe, The Tate and some shopping !

(actualisé le )

In the morning, we went to Shakespeare’s theatre, the Globe.

The weather changed a lot while we were visiting. It was sunny although it could rain too.
We visited the Globe and spent an hour and a half inside. We saw the stage and the boxes and the balconies where people sat. We sat on the wooden banches while the guide explained how Shakespeare’s theatre worked.

Shakespeare bought the Globe in 1599. This theatre is not the original but it is a replica because the Globe was destroyed by a fire in 1613.

Then, we went to the Tate Modern museum where we had lunch.

We looked for famous modern paintings by Kandinsky, Dali or Braque.

We took the tube and got off at Oxford Circus to go shopping in Oxford street.

Oxford Street is a long avenue with lots of shops : Topshop, Bershka, Boots, Primark, Superdrug, Urban outfiters.... The teachers said we could go shopping for an hour and we gathered in front of Mark & Spencer.
We bought a jacket, m&ms, tea, jeans, snow gloves, make-up....

At six, we took our train back to Morden where our families live.
